Routing recommendation

Score is a weighted mean of min-max normalized strain, carbon intensity and price across the selected regions; lower is better. Regions without a price are scored on strain and carbon only. Demand and mix carry the EIA period timestamp shown in the JSON, which lags real time by several hours.

Data sources and limits

• Demand, forecast, fuel mix: EIA API v2 hourly grid monitor data for CISO, ERCO, PJM, MISO, ISNE, NYIS, SWPP. Requires a free EIA key, held server-side in the Worker. Published with a lag of several hours; this is not sub-hourly telemetry.
• Price: CAISO OASIS day-ahead hourly LMP for the NP15, SP15 and ZP26 trading hubs. No other ISO price feed is wired in v0; those regions return price: null.
• Carbon intensity: generation-weighted lifecycle factors. Coal, gas, nuclear, hydro, wind, solar and geothermal use IPCC AR5 Annex III medians. Petroleum, "other" and storage use placeholder values, listed with their source in carbon_factors in every response.
• "Hyper-local" in v0 means ISO balancing-authority level, not node or substation level.
